🔍 Search and Add are now the front door
The popup and sidebar both lead with two clear buttons — Search and Add. Tap either to reveal its input; tap again to hide it. Only one panel is ever open, and switching between them is instant with no layout jump. No more hunting for a small search icon buried next to the tabs.

🔍 Torrent search now queries indexers directly, not your NAS
Since 2.97, HTTP/FTP//torrent search ran through your QNAP NAS's own Download Station search add-ons -- those had gone stale and search was breaking. You asked us to fix it. As of this version, search queries go straight to three public torrent indexers (Pirate Bay via apibay.org, YTS, and Nyaa) instead. Nothing is downloaded automatically -- you still choose which result, if any, to send to your own NAS. As requested, we'll soon add GitHub, npm registry, and Hugging Face Hub to the search results.

No dead tab strip
When there are zero downloads, the Downloading / Paused / Completed tabs disappear entirely instead of sitting there disabled. They animate back the moment a download arrives.

🔍 Torrent search now runs direct
Torrent search no longer depends on Download Station add-ons (which break as their target sites change). It now queries three public indexers directly — Pirate Bay (general), YTS (movies), and Nyaa (anime) — merges the results, and ranks them by seed count. Every row shows which site it came from. Search works even when your NAS is offline; if offline, added items are placed in to the queue for automatic submission when the NAS is online.

⚡ Faster bulk actions
Pause All, Resume All, Clear All, and Remove Selected now run up to 4× faster on large lists by processing requests in parallel instead of one at a time.

🔕 Smarter intercepted-download notifications
Clicking several magnet links or triggering multiple intercepted downloads in quick succession now produces one grouped notification — "4 downloads intercepted" — instead of a stack of separate ones. Open it to see every item in the batch and exclude all their sites in a single click. Single clicks still fire their own individual notification as before.

📊 Live status on the toolbar icon
Hover the extension's toolbar icon during a download to see a live status line below the extension name:

🔒 Clearer removal state
When a removal's Undo countdown runs out, the row now stays visibly marked "Removing…" until the NAS confirms it's gone — no more normal-looking row that silently ignores input while waiting.

🐛 Fixed: sidebar console error
Adding downloads from the sidebar's + Add Download button no longer throws a one-off JavaScript error in the browser console.

📥 Queue empties immediately when the NAS reconnects
Previously, if you added downloads while the NAS was unreachable, the offline queue would drip them back one at a time — each waiting out its own countdown before the next. Now, the moment the extension confirms the NAS is back, the whole queue is retried in one pass and drains straight away. If the NAS drops again mid-drain, the remaining items go back to their normal backoff.

Firefox Sidebar support — access Send To QNAP++ from Firefox's sidebar, so downloads stay visible while you browse.

[ Completed file action ]
↪ Previously named 'Custom URI Handoff' — decide what happens when you click a completed download's filename:

🠺 Copy its path to the clipboard — copies the file's location to your clipboard.

🠺 Open with an app — hands the path off to a protocol you've already registered with your OS.

🠺 A custom path format lets you tailor both the copied path and the handoff URI to your own OS folder structure.

[ Retry failed downloads ]
🠺 Retry failed downloads — click the retry icon on any failed entry, or use the new Retry Failed bulk action to retry every failed download at once.

[ Clickable notifications ]
🠺 Clickable desktop notifications — completion and failure notifications open the Completed tabs page. Auto-Interception notifications open an action panel with "Don't intercept this site" and "Open Extension" buttons.

UI Changes

• Settings screen is now accessed by the gear icon
• Settings - Show file type icons, Auto-intercept downloads, Folder routing rules, Custom URI handoff, Backup/Restore -- Under settings we merged the checkbox and gear icon into a single click chevron + text status
• Error messages have a toast popup instead of text within the header center space
• Removed the border around Downloading, Paused, and Completed
• Move the quick add input and upload torrent button outside the main container
• Hovering over the file type icon has a simple expand appearance instead of this odd jumping animation

Settings Issue

Fixed an issue where Auto-Intercept file-type selections could become inconsistent after updating from an older version of the extension, or after importing a previously exported settings file. In affected cases, a file-type category (such as Pictures) could remain active in the background even though it appeared unchecked in Settings.

Auto-Intercept now always matches what you see: if a category isn't checked in Settings, it will not be intercepted, regardless of how you arrived at your current settings (fresh install, update, or imported backup).

No action needed — this applies automatically. If you've customized Auto-Intercept before, it's worth a quick look at Settings → Auto-Intercept after updating just to confirm your selections still look the way you expect.
